“We were Trained by NATO and M16 in Turkey” says Syrian Rebel to BBC (Video)
BBC interview of the Canadian resident Thwaiba Kanafani from August, 2012. FSA is the Free Syrian Army. Adana is a city in southern Turkey. Riad Mousa Al-Asaad was the commander of the Free Syrian Army, at the time of this interview. On December 8th, 2012, he was replaced by Brigadier General Salim Idris as the commander of the Free Syrian Army.
According to the article in BBC Turkce Haberler, Kanafani lived in Canada with her husband and 2 kids. She studied engineering and worked in the oil industry. BBC reporter Richard Galpin met with her in Adana for this interview.
Kanafani claims, she also worked as a spy for the FSA, in the interview.
The Progressive Press has been reporting on the existence and locations of these training camps, and funding for the Syrian opposition forces which have turned into multiple Jihadist factions, such as Al Qaeda and ISIS.
