Iran Warned the USA on Chemical Weapons, TCSM Claims
In a letter obtained by The Christian Science Monitor (TCSM) that was sent to the USA officials, Iran has been warning Washington since July 2012 that Sunni rebel fighters have acquired chemical weapons, and called on the US to send “an immediate and serious warning” to rebel groups not to use them. Iran claims that it warned the United States directly, in mid- and late- 2012, and at least once after that, about the risks of chemical weapons among the rebels. Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander Kamal Hamami, also known as Abu Basir al-Ladkani, was shot dead following a meeting with the Al-Qaeda militants in the Syrian port city of Latakia on July 11th. Also a Supreme Military Council member, Hamami was meeting with members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) , FSA spokesman Qassem Saadeddine informed Reuters. According to a report on Anadolu Agency, today, a group of bipartisan US congressmen introduced a bill to prevent US President Obama from arming Syrian opposition. CIA has been Training the Syrian Rebels, Report Claims
Los Angeles Times reports that CIA operatives and U.S. special operations troops have been secretly training Syrian rebels with anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons in Turkey and Jordan since late last year. White House officials refused to comment on the report, saying only that the U.S. had increased its assistance to the rebellion. Egypt Cuts All Ties With Syria
Speaking at a conference on the Syrian uprising in Cairo on Saturday, President Mohamed Morsi announced that Egypt will be cutting all ties with Syria. He ordered the Syrian embassies in Damascus and Cairo to be closed, and called for imposition of no-fly zone. Morsi also said Egypt will begin providing Syrian opposition forces with financial aid and support for the Lebanon-based terror group Hezbollah would end.
