Yes, in a very close race, former Governor of South Carolina, Mark Sanford defeated Elisabeth Colbert Busch on May 7, 2013 for the First Congressional District in South Carolina. The seat had been vacated because of U.S. Senator Jim DeMint taking a position at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative Think Tank. AARP Survey Shows 54% of South Carolina Residents Support Medicaid Expansion
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has heard it from state officials, hospital lobbyists, and economic advisers. Now, a poll conducted by the AARP shows residents in her state favor Medicaid and want it expanded. Here’s the full press release. A new AARP survey of 800 South Carolina residents 45+ shows that almost 70 percent feel that when compared to other government programs, Medicaid is very to extremely important.
