This is the first in a two-part interview with 19 year-old science education activist and Rice University student Zack Kopplin. Zack has led the fight to repeal Louisiana’s dangerous Science Education Act, signed into law by Governor Bobby Jindal on June 25, 2008. His petition garnered nearly 75,000 signatures. A letter to the Louisiana Legislature was signed by 77 Nobel Laureate scientists and Kopplin otherwise has the backing of dozens of important science bodies, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science (10 million strong). Is digital photography true photography? I’ve been a professional photographer for long years. When I first converted to digital photography, I heard the debate comparing digital photography to what was referred to as traditional photography, meaning film photography. There are many different views on the subject and some people actually say digital does not look as good as film, and others go so far to claim digital photography is cheating to get a good photograph, and act as though you are not a real photographer if you use digital techniques.
